The quickest way to succession planning is through a program of mentoring. Mentoring skills are leadership skills. Everyone needs a mentor and must strive to mentor someone. Mentoring skills are a must have in one’s management and leadership toolkit. Organizations should endeavor to put in place a mentorship policy and program, train mentors and mentees and implement the program.
