Relationship management is one of the 4 pillars of emotional intelligence. Life is about relationships. Teams, organizations and even nations exist through relationships. While old school was about stifling emotions, the new paradigm is about understanding and leveraging emotions. We now know that employee performance is deeply a function of emotions. Relationship entails communication and optimizing performance. Relationship management also entails employee and customer experience management. Understanding personality and issues that flow from that including self esteem and attitude is critical to managing relationships.
